I support and coach parents with infants that are adjusting to the demands of a new baby. It can be an incredibly joyous time, but also extremely challenging. Day to day with a baby that can mostly only cry to express a variety of needs, while being sleep deprived, can be one of the most challenging aspects of parenthood.
I rely on years of experience working with children in various settings, homes, schools, mental health hospital, and over 24 years experience of being a mother myself, as well as my work as a psychotherapist and formal parent-infant trainning at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. I also work in the NHS where I am developing the Parent-Infant Psychotherapy service in the Trust.
A significant part of my professional journey has been my commitment to diversity and inclusivity. My approach is based on the understanding that each family dynamic, circumstances and constellation is unique. There are working parents, same sex parents, families with toddlers who are struggling to adjust to a new baby, single parents; many different circumstances that present their own challenges. There is no book written about you and your baby. I support and help develop each family’s potential through a hands on coaching approach, where creativity and play is central.
Parent-Infant coaching sessions can involve a single meeting or regular meetings over a period of time.
